| Largest Transfrontier Park deal signed!
The second Transfrontier Park to be established
in Southern Africa was given the go ahead on the 10 th. November 2000 when
Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa signed the agreement. The Gaza-Kruger
Gonarezhou Transfrontier Area will be the biggest transfrontier conservation
area in the world, a park covering almost 100 000 km2.
The first transfrontier park to be created
in Southern Africa was the Kgalagadi Park which comprises of an area of
42 000 km2 and encompasses the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park in South
Africa and the Gemsbok National Park in Botswana. |
